totally shocking-though ask grandpa where he went swimming when he was a boy, ask where all the old circus tents once were set up in fields, ask local farmers if they have ever turned over money boxes in there fields.
local churches hold bazars carnivals etc. old places where the dams broke or the lake went dry.

between the two detectors you have chosen due to the amount you can spend, the garrett is the better. try to get as much etra items as you can, they add up also, digging tools ,head phones, etc cost extra, but look all the same type detectors the complete packge deal for $10.00 more is a lot better I would advise you try out the whites prism iv or v they have excelent return for the money and arent that much more. sincerly

go for the garret- you should find enough money in 6 months by working play grounds and fair grounds to cover every thing else you want. i have found rings valued at more then $5ooo.oo and gold enough to buy my cadillac.

turn all dials to the preset diamound notch, raise detector waist high, turn power switch on to the hot rock reject- theres also a preset notch in same position-turn mode switch temporaly to geb norm- pull trigger -adjust tuner switch- for faint but light hum- release trigger switch- push the auto geb switch to air- hear the beep
lower search coil to ground hear beep -push auto geb switch to gnd auto track or to the rear. set mode dial to
geb disc adjust disc as needed to eliminate foil etc.works best on 6 1/2 to 7 higher tends to rub out the nickles.
best you set detector high up on chair or wooden table to check different metals. higher tones better coins, raspy or double travel noise usually foil or pull tabs. can fine tune out all metals on the bench except small metal foil from beer cans. good luck. also when not using it pull the batteries. this model holds the battery gases well and can cause problems. sam

Stay away from both. The Bounty hunter is junk.Poor build quality. The Ace 250 is hard to learn how to pinpoint with. Where I live in the states I am seeing lots of people trading these in for something better. I have detected for over 25 yrs, and if I were you I would look at the Tesoro Silver U-Max. Cost is $239.00 U.S. I know this is more than you want to spend, but it is by far a better detector. Excellent depth.Very easy to use for a beginner.Plus it comes with a lifetime warranty.

The bounty Hunter Tracker looks the best. For metal detectors you want to get one that is sensitive 'powerful' and something that will ignore a paperclip. Most of the pop of the line detectors will just ignore small silly things like that, others will go off even if its just a small broken watch part.
Dont get your hopes up too high, I had one once and it was nice, but you get tired of running around in the heat only digging up junk.. very rare do you find something nice..

But its great excerise and I'm glad you're going after something you enjoy. Good luck!
