Well once again im hopin the yahoo comunity pulls through as usual for a tough predicament im in.

I recently got into gold prospecting, panning and such. I have found several rivers and dry beds near me with gold in them.
Needles to say as all things do this hobby has grew into more. I wan to step it up a notch and get a detector thats able to be partially submerged to “sniff out” small amount of gold nuggets. Upon weeks of research i am still unable to get a clear answer to my problem.

I could care less about coins and such im only interested in gold “nuggets” and not jewelry as far as prospecting goes. Does anyone know of a metal detector that can meet my needs??? It has to be able to be partially submerged as i scan pockets for nuggets, not to mention be able to pick out at least a gram.

Any helpfull info out there in yahoo land????

I would like something that has has a good depth range, a waterproof coil (so i can use it at the beach or lake)
I would also like something that would work well in the woods as well as on the beach, i live in maine so i have all sorts of place’s i can go with it from fram land to heavy woods to the beach’s.
I know that the more money you spend the more featurs you can have so it would be nice for someone to tell me what features are really usefull and what are not.
